Software Engineer II (Node.JS)

What You’ll Do

This is your opportunity to play a key role in supporting various stages of the software development lifecycle, specifically focusing on the development of a new API to support one of our products and you will be instrumental in designing and building it. You bring skills in designing, implementing, and testing software solutions to business problems. You are comfortable working closely with product managers, tech leads, and the other engineers on your team.

  • Partner with a product to design technical solutions to business and user problems
  • Build and maintain software systems
  • Actively participate in peer review
  • Document processes and procedures
  • Implement new and improved technical designs and technologies
  • Plan and carry out an information security strategy

What We’re Looking For:

  • Professional, hands-on experience working with Node.js / Typescript / JS ecosystem
  • 3+ years of experience building scalable, maintainable, and production-ready back-end API systems
  • 3+ years of professional experience working with Node.js and Typescript
  • Experience with:
    • Popular Node.js Frameworks ( Express.js, Nest.js, Adonis.js )
    • Typescript and Javascript ( Babel, ES6, and the latest JS releases )
    • Writing Unit Tests ( Jest, Vitest..)
    • SQL Databases
    • API Standards ( REST, SOAP, GraphQL )
    • Building microservices and serverless platforms
    • Module bundlers (Webpack, rollup, Vite..)
  • Experience with product lifecycle ( Design / Development / Testing / Deployment / Monitoring)
  • Sound software engineering methodology understanding: meaningful and deeply-rooted opinions about testing and code quality, ability to make sound quality/speed trade-offs.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, able to work with business and technical stakeholders
  • Experience building high availability and high transaction systems that scale.
  • Experience building with modern web application development practices and microservices architectures

Bonus Points:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with Queue / Message Brokers ( Kafka, RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS …)
  • Experience building, and maintaining cost-efficient, scalable cloud solutions in AWS (Amazon Web Services)
  • Experience working with PHP and C# ( .net )
  • Experience working with Salesforce integrations
  • Document / NoSQL DBs ( Elastic Search, MongoDB… )
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and other DevOps tools
  • Domain knowledge in RVs, Motorcycles, ATVs, and Trucks.
