General Manager, Websites

We are seeking a dynamic General Manager of Websites to build the strategy, plan development and monitor performance of our customer platforms. This leadership role involves managing the day-to-day operations, guiding a cross-functional team of developers, designers, and digital marketers, and ensuring the seamless execution of website projects that drive business growth, grow the customer base and enhance the user experience.

This person will be a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of website development, digital marketing, user experience (UX), technology trends and, most importantly, customer needs. The General Manager of Websites will work closely with key stakeholders across the business to ensure websites align with organizational goals and deliver exceptional user experiences.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Website Strategy & Software Vision: Lead the creation and execution of a strategy for the company’s dealer websites, ensuring they align with customer & industry needs, meet business objectives. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor websites to drive continuous improvement

  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage a cross-functional team, including developers, designers, content managers, and digital marketers. Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to ensure the team remains innovative and effective

  • Website Development & Optimization: Oversee the development, design, and ongoing optimization of dealer websites. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Drive continuous improvement in performance, usability, and accessibility

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the CTO, CMO & ELT to understand business goals and translate them into effective website solutions. Communicate website performance, improvements, and strategies effectively to senior leadership

  • Performance Management & Analytics: Monitor and analyze website traffic, user behavior, and performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, and A/B testing platforms. Use data insights to make informed decisions on website enhancements and optimizations

  • User Experience & Design Oversight: Ensure a seamless, engaging, and user-friendly website experience that meets the needs of visitors. Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create intuitive site layouts and optimize conversion funnels

  • Technology Integration & Innovation: Evaluate and implement the latest technologies and tools to enhance website functionality and performance. Drive the adoption of innovative web technologies, including CMS platforms, e-commerce solutions, and integrations with other business systems

  • Budget & Resource Management: Manage the budget for website-related projects, ensuring resources are allocated effectively. Track expenses and ensure projects are delivered within budget constraints.

  • Compliance & Security: Ensure the company’s websites comply with legal requirements, including data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA), and implement strong security measures to protect user data


Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Marketing, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in web development, digital strategy, or website management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role

    • Proven experience in managing large-scale website projects, from conception to launch

    • Expertise in web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, CMS platforms like WordPress, Shopify, or Drupal)

    • Experience with SEO, analytics tools (Google Analytics, SEMrush), and user experience principles

    • Experience managing and mentoring cross-functional teams

  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills

    • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

    • Strategic thinking with a focus on long-term website growth and optimization

    • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies

    • Strong understanding of security protocols, website compliance, and privacy regulations

    • Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and online sales strategies is a plus


Preferred Attributes:

  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies

  • Experience in managing websites for B2B or B2C brands

  • Strong Digital Marketing & Dealer knowledge

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other front-end technologies.

  • Understanding of cloud services and hosting platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.)
